Reflected Sunrise

This picture involved a bit of serendipity. It shows a sunrise in the White Sands National Monument after a tremendous thunderstorm the previous night – a rare occurrence in this area – left not only these beautiful clouds but also enormous puddles which reflected them. By special arrangement with the rangers, we were able to enter the park an hour before sunrise and were amply rewarded by sights such as this.
