Chaco Canyon : Chaco Cultural National Historic Park

~ A World Heritage Site
- is famous for ancient Anasazi Pueblos, the Sun Dagger on Fajada Butte, and an interpretation of Solar and Lunar influences on building orientations.

We present some of the important pueblos. We enjoy shootin' moonrise; Chaco provides superb shots at various locales.

The Solstice Project has carefully measured building walls, windows, and other features to provide an interpretation suggesting the equinox, solstices, and lunar standstills were interpreted by the Anasazi as markers for orientating their ancient, complex dwellings.

Today, it is a National Preserve, where you can bask in nature and perhaps shoot gorgeous images of wild elk.

Ghost Ranch : Ghost Ranch is famous as a Learning Center.
Ghost Ranch was also the home of Georgie O'Keeffe, well known recluse and impressionistic painter. Her work can be found at the Santa Fe Museum in her name.

The Georgia O'Keeffe Landscape Tour, hosted by Ghost Ranch, is a fascinating drive onto private land. A DVD video compares some of O'Keeffes paintings with the landscapes she loved so dearly.

Then a guided tour provides insight and photo ops along the fascinating cliff fronts near the Main Building of Ghost Ranch.

Located in northern New Mexico, Ghost Ranch provides alluring vistas and majestic cliffs.

Ghost Ranch is also home to the swift little meat-eating dinosaur, Coelophysis, a Late Triassic animal who died in a grand flood some 220 million years ago.
